— The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
“Ouroboros” (live) by The Mars Volta
The Armadillo Lizard (Cordylus cataphractus) is a lizard endemic to desert areas of southern Africa. It is also known as the Typical Girdled Lizard, Armadillo Girdled Lizard, Golden Armadillo Lizard, and Armadillo Spiny-tailed Lizard.
The Armadillo Lizard possesses an uncommon antipredator adaptation, in which it takes its tail in its mouth and rolls into a ball when frightened. In this shape it is protected from predators by the thick, squarish scales along its back and the spines on its tail. This behavior, which resembles that of the mammalian armadillo, gives it its English common name. This behavior may have inspired tales of the mythical creature Ouroboros.

pesma replied to your post: I haven’t had a chance to read Jean-Paul…
you need to read it ASAP, it’s amazing
I searched for it in one of my favorite book stores. Sadly, no copies were available. I did, however, reach for Troubled Sleep, but considering that I haven’t yet read the earlier novels in that trilogy I decided not to.
Some of the photos from graduation have turned up.
“The Drug” by Theophilus London feat. Jesse Boykins III
I haven’t had a chance to read Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea yet but I found this excerpt and am convinced that I need procure a copy as soon as possible.
Don’t mean to be a pretentious elitist, but if you don’t dig Seventeen Seconds, it’s difficult for me to relate as a Cure fan.
Easily some of their best work.
Seventeen Seconds by The Cure
“Seventeen Seconds is the second studio album by The Cure, released in April 1980 by Fiction Records. It is the only Cure album to feature keyboardist Matthieu Hartley, and was featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The album reached number 20 on the British album charts.

Greetings From Detroit Mix
“some Fake Surfers and Growwing Pains tracks featured on this killer compilation focusing on Detroit music, along with some new recordings from Terrible Twos, Kommie Kilpatrick, and a ton of other great bands/friends. check it out!”-Jake Kmiecik
Jake’s my friend and so are the dudes in Fake Surfers and Growwing Pains. Listen to him.
“Historically speaking this city knows as much about making garage rock as Henry Ford knew about makin’ cars. And where our legends paved the route, contemporaries have picked up the torch and blazed through, one broken guitar string at a time, dive bar by dive bar; the Detroit legacy lives on. And this mix truly comes from Detroit; I’m not just talking location.
As is Detroit’s modus operandi, the creation of this playlist became a collective project, as to which I could never take full credit. Roughs were mastered and rushed from Tubor studios, bands consulted each other as to what track to submit, album art went from its draft stages to final polished projects, and the intensely personal (and comical) cover art for the mix was penned.
Why all this team work? Well it was twofold: for the love of our city and the creative enterprises we sustain here. There is something similar about the concept of GET BENT and what we do here in Detroit; it’s all grassroots, by-us-for-us, and all fueled by the love of rock and roll. And there is nothing more beautiful than seeing everyone rally together for what brought us together and keeps us together.
Featuring tracks all recorded within the past year, pop open a cold one, set that speaker volume to max, and get ready to hear Rock City’s rabble.
